Saturday 2nd December 2017

Well a cloudy, but mild day (5) I spent the morning down the Garage, doind lots of small jobs on the B175 and the 2nd D7.  I swapped over to the smaller top box, the other one looking far more practical was simply too large, and therefore asthetically poor. Last set of photos proved this. I then moved onto the single switch D7, which research shows should be a twin switch. Little did I know what that would actually involve. A couple of hours this was sorted, I then straighted the rear mudguard on the same bike, and removed the Mikuni carb, again asthetics. I have mis-placed the slide and needle, but hoping to sort this tomorrow. I smiled as although Dad was in Leeds, I used his spanners to sort it x 

Sunday 3rd December 2017

Well its related to bikes ! - I fitted the mudguards to the recently purchased single motorcycle trailer. It started to drizzle, and my back was playing up. So will finish this coming Saturday. Then onto testing the lights. Bought new stock of nitrile gloves from Ebay. 

Monday 4th December 2017

decided to trail the 4K sub £30 gopro copy on the morning commute. Certainly good enough to capture traffic vilolations. 

I then received the Oxford mitts. Need to re-affix in the daylight. 

Tuesday 5th December 2017

Decided to remove the mitts, as they restrained the movements of the controls. Should never have bought them.

Wednesday 6th December 2017

Had a bit of a scare, although the rear tyre has some grip on it, I lost the rear end of the bike twice. Once on the way to work, and once on the way home.  Will need to investigate

Thursday 7th December 2017

Called the Motoworks at Peterborough, spoke to Pete, and we agreed £130 for the bottom end rebuild. Trying to plan when I'll get the bike to Pete for work to be carried out. 

Saturday 9th December 2017

Well below freezing, but it was time to remove the B175 engine for the bottom end to be rebuilt. 

Monday 11th December 2017

Purchased some imperial allen keys. Proceeded to split the B175 engine.

Tuesday 12th December 2017

Having purchased the imperial keys for taking the B175 engine part, I proceeded to take it appart. Annoyingly I was stuck removing the primary drive cog. Purchasing a puller tomorrow evening. 

Wednesday 13th December 2017

Well what a night, started well. Used the puller, but spent most of the evening trying to get the woodruff key out of the crank. I then took it easy seperating the two halves. Will let the crank out of the case in the morning. All ended well, long night though and full of cold. 

Thursday 14th December 2017

Took the engine crank up to Pete O Dell, and he immediately said it needed a re-bore and new piston. He's ordered one from Rex Caunt. This should transform the bike. He is also blasting the barrel for painting. 

Saturday 23rd December 2017

Mild but overcast weather, went into the garage, to run up the Kawasaki that had not been run for a week, took it up the cul-de-sac, and then let it tick over. Fitted the slide to BSA number three, and ran her up. Experimented with the needle, and lifting it to the hightest position definately helped. Still can't get a good tick over, I will take a look over the next few days.  Started to compile the highlights of 2017 video for Youtube, creating the composite titling and reading up on exporting video for youtube.

Took a ride, the long way to Costa in Huntingdon, tested the GoPro at 1140 - did not like the aspect. See results below.

Took the Kawasaki for a trip through the villages. 

Tuesday 26th December 2017

Rode the Kawasaki round the riptons, to try some multi angle filming, all was going well until I came off the bike. Indicators ordered from Webmoto. 


Thursday 28th December 2017 

Parts arrived from Webmoto. Will fit them tomorrow, drove to Leeds, and it was a tough day :-(

Saturday 30th December 2017 

Extremley mild day, the rain yesterday prevented me from working on the bikes. Finished the repairs to the bike. When time allows I do need to take a look at the oil levels in the Kawasaki. Never the less, all repairs complete. I then moved onto getting the 3rd Bantam running, seem to achieved this, albeit i cannot get the bike to tick over. Its as if the throttle cable is too long. Dissaspointling I have to report that I have lost my spectacles. Tommorow, I ride to Cambridge, I intend to test the Eken H9R camera. I will mount this on the chest harness. Off the Grafton Centre to buy a shirt for New Years Eve. 

Sunday 31st December 2017

Rode into Cambridge on the Kawasaki, used the Garmin software last night to find a good parking slot behind the Grafton Centre. When I returned I filmed the intro for the Highlights "2017" the day was mild, and I throughly enjoyed riding the Kawasaki.  Film link below.
