June 2017

Thursday 1st June 2017

Although it was my Birthday, I decided to spend it down the garage, getting BSA No.3 running. Took it out for a road test. Over the coming weekend I will complete as much as I can. Hoping to get George over to sign the paperwork so I can start to apply for a log book.

Commute cam 12 second test @720p - Not entirely happy - its too low, and whilst the tank is rubber mounted theirs far too much vibration - camera has mucky lens, this is more a camera placement test. Will mount to helmet for next weeks commute and post results. NO AUDIO ON THE VIDEO - 12SEC DURATION.

Sunday 4th June 2017

Had a determined effort at getting all three Bantams back to roadworthy conditions. I had borrowed the carb from Black Betty to try on BSA no. 3, time to put it back on Betty. Also thought that it was time to get the end cone on the B175, and try to get some other bits sorted. Then take a look at BSA no.3.

Getting the end cone sorted was a bit of trial and error, but in the end it did seem to fit. Winter of 2017 will see the whole exhaust sorted. Old AMAL fitted to BSA no.3, will replace it with a Mikuni in a few days. Need to sort fuel piping out and filters.

At the end of the afternoon I took the Thunderbird to the Abbots Elm and had a quiet beer. This coming Sunday we have the BSA meet at Upwood.

Wore the chest harness to test the fake GoPro rode home this evening in light rain. Not that bad, now I've taken off the wrapping. doooh - h264 - 720p@60fps 2Pass This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Sunday 11th June 2017

Bsa Bantam meet, little different exclusive to the BSA bantams, met for a bacon roll, then a short run to the Crown for a pint. Stand fractured on the B175, and the end can came off. Grrr.

Monday 11th June 2017

Such a lovely warm evening I took betty down beside the Mill. Wonderful.

Tuesday Bike Night

Rode on the B175 to Connington. Wonderful evening, and bike ran flawlessly. Better still the low road is open. Resisted a Kebab on the way home. Stu in Glos, so could not ride. Thus the choice of bike.

Wednesday Hartford Marina

black Betty makes its second apperance this week, and went to the Hartford Marina. All told a great evening, met Andy, and had tips re welding and carb balancing.

Tuesday 20th July 2017

Rode black betty to the pub, and took a few photos - if the posts seem sparse we have had several days in a row of 33/34 degrees.
