Sunday 1st October 2017
Intermittent rain made working on Alan's BSA Challenging, however popping in and out of the grage, and getting it to the weldnig station I suceeeded in the end, took it for a road test, and the bike started on the first or second kick everytime. Had to shave the fins off the regulator rectifier, but the bottom line is that it works as should. It'll need a new loom before hitting the road though, as the old one was well past its sell by date.
Monday 2nd October 2017
Dashware came good, and the telemetry works on import, the export however is not excellent. Might suffice for the odd short clip.
Tuesday 3rd October 2017
Went out and tested the cold start on Alans bones powered Bantam, went after the first kick. Success. Work continued on the Gimbal.
Wednesday 4th October 2017
Fitted the chinese copy of the GoPro to the full face chin mount. I need to work on the rendering quality, but you get the idea.
Saturday 7th October 2017
Well the weather was suppose to be dry, but as usual I awoke early and light rain was falling, texts started to fly between myself and Simon & George, and the weather lifted. I rode to meet Simon, and we parked up at the Jolly Sailor pub on the great whyte. Soon Mick turned up on his B44, and we rode to Auto retentive, we were not there long before George and Yorkie turned up. Owners of the Garage had no problem with us parking in their car park. Some time later we received a text to say that Rob bike had nipped up, and with that we proceeded to ride to the Holme 40s weekend. On the way Georges bike stopped, we think it might be the float bowl, George tapped it and we were soon on our way. All in all a lovely morning, better still Rob made it on his Guzzi.
Tuesday 10th October 2017
Spent the last few hours of daylight fitting the Garmin power pack to the Kawasaki in readiness for Fridays training day. I think I managed to connect everything. Tomorrow evening I will test and programme with my route to the Ace Cafe.
Wednesday 11th October 2017
Quickly completed the sat nav wiring, checked the mains feed to the head-set. Worked a treat, have miss placed the RAM arm. Ordered another from Amazon.
Friday 13th October 2017
Rode down to the Ace on the Kawasaki, in the dark, left home about 6am, and it took me best part of 2.5 hours to do 60 miles. Traffic as I approached London was bad. Had a great day, just Dan Martin and I and a copper on a bike. Total miles was about 220. Came home and sized up the solar panel for the Bantam. Will fix it to the Garage front in the morning. Garage needs a proper sorting.
Saturday 14th October 2017
Woke up to a lovely day, sun was shining, so I wheeled out the D7, and took a run to the Dyers Patio centre to order some gravel for the front border. I then, rode to the Crown at Broughton ( it was closed, then home ) Photos below.
Sunday 15th October 2017
Stafford bike show, with Simon, George & Yorkie. As ever, I went with a long list, and came back with a couple of bits. Doooh - never mind, I will think how I move forward with the B175 Stainless.
Monday 16th October 2017
Ordered my chrome bits from feked, should be here for the weekend.
Saturday 21st October 2017
Fitted clear fuel tube to the D7, and a new throttle assembly, then fitted a rear view mirror to the B175. Need new grips, for both bikes.
Sunday 22nd October 2017
Spent the afternoon down the garage, tidying up, and getting storage sorted. Had an interesting discovery, the jet in the 2nd D7 was wrong, this morning ( Monday ) I called Burlen fuels and their putting two in the post. Fingers crossed it'll sort the running out.
Friday 27th October 2017
As predicted the weather was fantastic, I spent the day down the garage fettling the BSA Bantam flock. Noticed that I definately need a fuel filter on this 3rd Bantam, hopefully the video below will prove this.
First job was to fit the correct jet to the 3rd Bantams monobloc. During this process I discovered that the wires under the tank needed soldering as the bullets came appart. I then fitted a centre stand to the bike, and then fitted a VM22 carb to the Bantam, here is a video showing the results. Wonderful day messing with the bike.
